News:

March 15, 2007 at 6:00pm:
SPECIAL Meeting at the Ventura County Airports office in Camarillo is scheduled for March 15th at 6:00pm. This meeting is with the Ventura County Department of Airports about a few proposal changes to private owned hangers, county hangers and uses. This concerns hangers both at Oxnard and Camarillo airports.

The proposals are as follows:

  • Ventura Department of Airports would like to have right of first refusal on private owned hangers, when these hangars are being sold.

  • Implementation of 2% transfer fee for private owned hangers sold. This 2% fee will be based on the county assessors assessed value of the property (This is typically lower than the actual sales price).

  • Airworthiness aircraft in hangers. The Department of Airports would like to ensure hangers are being used to store airworthy aircraft. Unlike in the past, where hangers were used to store everything other than an aircraft; this situation has led to a backlog waiting list for hangers. There are special provisions for hangers that have aircraft, which are being restored or worked on. This provision is the Director of Airports would review every 90 days the progress of the aircraft restoration.

November 7, 2006:
The Oxnard Airport ILS for 25 is now back down to the 250' HAT, making the decision height 291. This change has been FDC NOTAM under 6/5393. The current GPS 25 approach is still not available due to saftey zone incursions, but the issue is being worked on by airport management.

A side note, Camarillo has received preliminary approval with an LPV approach giving precision approach capabilities for special equiped GPS aircraft.
